Once upon a time there was a little girl who spent her days going on magnificent adventures thanks to a very special kind of magic: stories. Stories spin ordinary, mundane words into a wild world of imagination. That little girl was me, and today I find myself wielding a magical pen of my own!
I grew up an avid bookworm devouring Dr. Seuss, Jack Prelutsky, Roald Dahl, Lewis Carroll, J.R.R. Tolkien, Brian Jacques, and too many others to mention. My parents would also invent stories at bedtime. Years later I found myself doing the same with my little cousins, and the seed of an idea was planted. However, in college I decided to be practical and got a BA in Business Management. I minored in Creative Writing to keep me sane, but upon graduation I moved to Los Angeles and found yet another storytelling medium: film. I discovered screenplays and returned once more to my love of words. That passion rekindled an imagination I had feared lost, and my head was soon spinning with ideas for children’s books. Now I’ve moved yet again, this time to the UK, where I’ve published my first book: Bedtime Beasts.
I live with my rescued cat, who helps me write by lying on the keyboard 🙂 I split my time between screenplays and children’s books, and I welcome write-for-hire opportunities!
